Welcoming flautists of all ages, our flute retreats offer a week, or weekend, full of inspiring and encouraging workshops, masterclasses, ensembles, and performances.
Book A SpaceAlong with a friendly and professional team, I have been delivering residential courses for over 10 years, previously in the French Alps with the acclaimed Flutes du Soleil, and more recently focussing on UK based courses in beautiful Perthshire. All courses are firmly rooted in learning through enjoyment in an encouraging and supportive environment.
Performance nerves is an issue which comes up again and again on our courses and we make a point of helping with this both in an informative way with tips and tricks to use, but also by nurturing the kind of environment where everyone feels they will be supported by the rest of the group, whether they are aspiring professionals or rusty returners to the instrument.
Courses are open to flautists from Grade 3 to advanced.
Tailoring flute coaching to the ambitions of those on the course, workshops and classes will cover areas such as breathing, technique, tone development, and musical interpretation. There will also be plenty of opportunity to learn new pieces, form small ensemble groups, and to take part in a concert at the conclusion of the course.
It won’t all be hard work with plenty of time to explore the local area, take part in daytime and evening activities, and make new, like - minded friends.
